Towards the end of the Olympics my emotions were heightened by the incredible performance of Devon in the 50km, Sara Renner's retirement post 30km race, the fact that it was all almost over, and the lack of sleep from letting loose on the dancefloors of Whistler and Vancouver.
The 2010 Olympic experience was beyond incredible and as many articles have already said, it was because of the Canadian people and their great spirit. Amazing show put on by all...
At the closing ceremonies I was in my happy place - sitting between my sister and Devon - and listening to Neil Young. As our team rolled back to Canmore on Monday I reflected on the performances that in a sport as tough as x-c skiing mean as much as a medal to us. With Devon's 4th, 5th and 7th he is more fired up than ever to make our team into all it can be going forward. In between 13 hour sleeps we are skiing in the bright sun of Canmore and already diving into goal setting.
In a couple days Devon is off to Scandinavia for the final world cups and I will soon head to Whitehorse for the Canadian Championships.

Hanging with Devon at the closing ceremonies after he placed 5th in the marathon of the winter Olympics: 50km classic. He was 1.5 seconds from the gold and 0.6 from the bronze!
