Photo update from my Italian escapades.

This week I accepted an invitation from my Italian friend Magda Genuin to join her for training at her home in Falcade, Italy, which is near the famous ski site of Val di Fiemme. When I won my first ever World Cup a few weeks ago in the skate sprint in Canmore, Magda took home the bronze for her first ever podium. It was an awesome day for us both. Here is a glimpse into my 4 days of great training and fun times in fabulous Falcade...

(gorgeous scenery and mountains that, despite being sharper, reminded me of my hometown Canmore. The Dolomites are awesome)

(we trained a lot this week because we were both so stoked to be out in the sun and fueled by the home cookin' of Magda's mama. Really fun 10km loop right in the town.)

(A real highlight was being welcomed into the Genuin family. Magda's mom spoiled me rotten. Here she is serving steaming hot lasagna for lunch after my 3-hour ski. )

(Magda's dad is a local coach and x-racer. He raced in the 50km at the Innsbruck Olympics and will be celebrating his 70th birthday next year with his SECOND Vasa Loppet race (90kms). Not only that but he is a top-notch wax man and he served up perfectly prepared skis for us!)
