| February 7, 2011 - Off to Norway for World Championships!
Hello Sportsfans!
The most exciting part of the season is here. World Championships are just around the corner and I'll soon be off to Norway for the final preparations and tune up races with my team. Because there's a skate sprint at World Champs this year I'm extra excited to make some moves out there in the event and technique I've had the most success in.
In these final weeks I'm focused on keeping the fun alive and good perspective to give myself the best chance to perform. Loading up on pressure doesn't do any good and I just end up skiing tight so why bother, right?
My boyfriend Devon is in super form and pretty chilled out (for him) following a career best - a world cup victory in the Tour de Ski in early January. We are both totally dedicated to our fantastic group of athletes and amazing staff and looking forward to what will be the biggest (in terms of educated, enthusiastic spectators) event of our ski lives to date... in the country that cares about cross country skiing more than any place in the world. Keep up to speed with the action on www.fiscrosscountry.com.
Thanks for checking in, please follow me on twitter @chandracrawford as I tend to post something there most days.
Enjoy the winter,
Chandra
Schedule:
Feb 2-6 racing Western Canadians in Kelowna.
Feb 9 leave for Norway
Feb 20 World Cup Sprint, Drammen, Norway.
Feb 24 World Champs Sprint, Oslo, Norway (then I'll do distance races also at worlds).
Mar 13 World Cup Sprint, Lahti, Finland.
Mar 14-21 Nationals, Canmore
Mar 29-Apr 2 Spring Series, Sun Valley

Great to see so much snow in the Canadian Rockies this winter. Here "Pinky" my Prius takes a winter nap under some serious pow.

No matter how intense or important ski racing can seem there's room in every workout to connect with the pure joy of physical activity and I always remind myself how much I love this sport.
