Chandra's Latest Update

This photo belies the fact that my ice fishing time in Brooks, Alberta this past weekend while visiting my friend Rachel was spent with my legs elevated, wrapped in blankets beside a fire enjoying the sunshine and being outside. Following my compartment syndrome release surgery I've been taking care to keep the lower legs elevated and don't have much pain so I've been off the painkillers since day 2 (also to keep awareness of what pain I do have is important to help me remember not to go run up a mountain or something).

Recovery from the surgery is going pretty well and I'm happy to be able to walk reasonably well after 2 weeks. I'm thinking in the next couple weeks I'll be able to do some physical activity and that will be glorious. Although this problem is somewhat common among skiers, there's no way of predicting how each individual will recover because there is a lot of variation.
Just a short update for now, I hope everyone is getting excited for nationals! Not that I'll be there, but nationals is always a good time. Spring is in the air here in Canmore, lovely.
