| November 28, 2010 - Finland Life

It's been really cold here with the 91% humidity and -19 all weekend. Kikkan and I went for Double Buff all the way. In this race she started a minute behind me and I have to admit it was a pretty good day for me to not get caught by my animal friend.

Dasha has been my rock solid teammate this trip and sometimes we are very cold...

... but thanks to this wonderful land of saunas we are always able to warm up. Great start for Dasha to be in the top 30 in her first world cup of the season. Watch out, world!
After last weekend's warm up races in Rovaniemi, Finland I felt ready to take on the World Cup and our team joined back up here in Kuusamo for the "Nordic Opening." I maintained my inability to get top 30 in a classic sprint with a huge climb in it but got two more races under my belt and overall feel good about my fitness and the season. The highlight was Devon's 10th place in this "tour" format which meant world cup points and cash would be awarded for the cumulative best performance over three races. Watching Devon and Alex slamming with the best in the World was truly inspiring and exciting.
I did two of the three races, choosing to prepare for the Dusseldorf sprint on December 4th where I hope to make the top 20 and pre-qualify for the World Championships. I'll be staying in Kuusamo until Thursday which is turning out pretty fun already because the Moguls crew is here and it's great to hang with Jenn Heil and Alex Bilodeau who are now my B2teammates. www.b2ten.com
Thanks for checking in. 3 weeks down and 2 to go on this trip. It will be awesome to hit up skate sprints in central Europe... I can't wait!
Hit the trails,
Chandra
