Ramsau, Austria

Canada's sprint team is in Ramsau doing final preparations for the Dusseldorf World Cup and enjoying the early season skiing on the 75cms of snow that has fallen here since we arrived on Thursday Oct 18. It's been awesome making our way around the 20kms of trails that are just a few minutes walk from our hotel and dodging the many Italian, Russian, Japanese, Czech, Slovenijan and Austiran racers as well as all the tourists who were out this weekend. Overall my fall training has been the best I've ever had with a great altitude camp in Mammoth Lakes, California and now this exciting race coming up Oct 27/28.
I am joined by Perianne Jones, Dave Nighbor, Stefan Kuhn, Philip Widmer and Sean Crooks as well as our fabulous ski technicians Yves Bilodeau and recent Swedish addition Mickeh Buch. Steinar is the coach extroirdinaire and buzzing with enthusisam about the upcoming races. (Perianne Jones is my sprint partner for the sprint relay on Sunday. This is the event that Sara Renner and Beckie Scott won their Olympic silver in, but in this race it will be skating technique)
